its for a job and thats what it says on theyre website.

its a clothing store and i was wondering what that meant

or am i thinking too much?

or is it just common sense..?

Well, unless this is a high-tech clothing store (e.g., military armor, antibacterial clothing, and etc.), it looks like pretentiousness is one of the cornerstones that define their web design.

"Knowledge is one of the cornerstones that define our values" is just a fancy way of saying knowledge is one of the company's core values.  In other word, this company highly values knowledge.

To put that on their website when they are a clothing store, however?  Questionable.
