  1. I would say your phone is broken, it's $50 reguardless. Also if you say you lost it or that it was stolen you have to go to the police station and get a claim number. (at least I always have with verizon) and why would you want to do that if it isnt even lost. Usually they can get contact info if the phone is broken, as long as the spot you plug the charger into still works.

  2. Is your phone even covered?

If so under what type of policy?

If you're going to claim this under your regular Homeowners policy, then beware!  You'll have to pay your deductable first and even if they don't pay a single penny on it, they'll likely non-renew your policy next year.

If you've gotten a policy specifically for the phone (Personal Articles Policy) you likely won't have to pay a deductible, but they'll investigate you carefully if you've had the policy for less then a year.

  3. If it has a sim card probably not if you say its lost but if you say it's broken you can pull the sim out and say it is good. but defrauding a compnay is never good it could always turn around and bite you in the ***. If you have already called there they have made a note of why you said it was origianlly submitted for.
