  1. I hate my husbands stinking work cell phone.  It rings at all hours by employees calling off, wanting to complain, etc.  We can't go out to eat without it ringing.  This one employee will call just to bs anytime he feels like.  Then there are the text messages!  Don't get me started.

I hate that people feel you should be available 24/7 on your cell phone.  My dad will call the house phone if he gets the machine he leaves a message and says he will try my cell.  He will call my cell and if I don't answer he goes nuts.  He will call every couple of minutes and leave long messages thinking something is wrong.  He did this on a Saturday for an hour.  When I finally called him back I jumped down his throat!  I was at a funeral!!!!!!!!  I don't answer my phone at a flipping funeral!

On the same note I will not answer the phone while out to eat, standing in line to check out etc.

People do not need to be accessible 24/7.

  2. NO !!! not if u keep up with the advances.

  3. Well of course they've made lives more stressfull.  The phrase "hurry up and wait" seems never to have been more apt than it is when one is speaking of items that were originally supposed to make our lives easier.  While I like using my computer, I certainly don't have the time nor desire to waste time and money on cell phones, video games, etc.  Why take on more stressful things?  Life is hectic enough without having everyone and their brother calling with silly questions.

  4. Without a doubt! Many gadgets are great if used in a limited way. I always take my cell phone with me when fishing in case I need help or get stranded but they make you "available" 24*7 no matter what - use the off button more frequently. Handheld devices give you access to email anywhere - why? Email is an asynchronous communication device and can wait! Same for Internet access on handhelds.

New gadget not compatible with the other gadget. New gadget needs recharging, oops new gadget is old gadget...

    It goes on and on.
