"palatal expander"???

Question

Well iam getting one of those next week and iam really nervous, iam all about the pain, i hate having pain, and i didnt even wanna get braces becuz they hurt so thats why iam going to get invisalign after..But plz tell me.

1.Does it hurt alot?(alot info about this plz)

2.How long do i have to have them on?

3.What cant i eat?

4.Does it hurt putting it on?

Well my 7 year old daughter has one in right now. She said it was a little uncomfortable getting it put in. She will have hers on for about 6-8 months. She has had no problems eating anything. sometimes Cheerios or fruit loops get stuck on the underside but she is able to expel them pretty easily. And she only complained the initial time that I had to "crank" it. Other than that she has been A-OK with it.

AfterWards It hurts a little Like a constant dull Pain but it goes away soon

About 2-5 months

You can eat anything just becareful

You may feel some discomfort while there putting in in your mouth
