  1. They have harvesting machines for both cherries and apples. Let me explain how they work.

The machine comes up to the tree and at the base is a rubber collar. The machine then shakes the fruit into the collar, lifts and deposits in the hauler.

Even my less than wealthy father had one of those and had 120 acres of trees. If the $8.57 hr doesn't attract enough workers, guess he will have to increase it and raise his price or go out of business. Such is the way in a free market.

  2. That sounds like a decent wage if SOMEbody really needs a job. They might have to get a second job but that's life if you want to eat. I have a good job but I agree to hire legals I just hope you can find some that won't demand higher pay so you lose the farm.

  3. Sorry I have a job. Everyone here says US citizens are lining up for these jobs so expect a line at your door by Monday morning.

  4. Sounds like yours is testimony for others to adhere to legal hiring and business practices. I would gladly go with-out cherries and apples just to watch your illegal business crumble and fall.

The good news is that you will soon find yourself working for an employer who has followed legal business practices and will then be able to learn how to operate a successful business under the law.

  5. Funny you have that problem. I know a guy in my hometown who runs a nursery. A big one. Several thousand acres. They grow and sell plants wholesale all over the  United States.  He pays well $10 an hour to start with an increase after 90 days.

He has tried everything. The government employment office, welfare offices, he has gone to high school graduations passing out cards (cause in South Carolina we specialize in the non college bound high school graduate) He paid the government run bus service to run a bus service accommodating his work schedule Everything.

He finally gave up. He does hire illegals to work. He gets them all ITINs and withholds all taxes from his employees. He has roughly 350 employees and is sure 90% of them are illegal.

So why is he packing up his operation to move to Mexico? South Carolina just passed a law that will make it d**n near impossible to hire illegals beginning in 2010.  He says there is no way he can retain enough legal workers to stay in business here. 10 an hour to start is 20,800 a year for a low skill job. That is what you make if you don't get the raise after 90 days. A raise you get just by showing up and working. That doesn't include any available overtime. He also offers insurance, vacation, profit sharing. No takers.

Is the economy going to go bankrupt if there is one less plant at the Lowes for sale? Probably not. Will it hurt the tax base if a business that large in a town 5,800 people leaves? Yep. Will other workers who aren't illegal lose their job? Yep. Will people who currently benefit from his paid for bus service, but aren't his employees have to find other ways to get to work yep.

Good luck to you and your farm. Does the climate in Mexico support cherry trees?

  6. If anyone checked his given link of "www.royalfarms.com"

you would have found it belongs to a store and there is no hiring being done for any fieldworkers on their jobs open page.

Unless you have posted another web site by accident, please feel free to correct this and link what you are trying to prove with this question.

  7. Are you saying that your farm has relied solely on illegal alien labor and are now crying because you've decided to follow the law?  As a competing farm owner, you can't sincerely expect me to be sympathetic?  I've been competing against morons like you who undercut my hiring practices for years.  I've been expected to hire legally but you haven't been?  I've competed fairly while you cheat!

I hope your fruit rots on the trees.  You've been cheating the government AND farm owners like myself for years.  People like you deserve to go under and to lose your farms.  You should go to prison for illegally hiring.

Is THAT the answer you expected, troll?

My organic farm has never and will never hire illegal aliens and I make a profit.  I'd make a better profit if I didn't have to compete against criminals like yourself.  The more farms like yours that fail -- the more I'll celebrate.  I may even buy up some of your land.

It's a win for those who follow the law.

Amazing. YOU create a problem for yourself by breaking the laws for years and now think you are justified to continue breaking the laws.   Think again.  (Personally, I think you are lying...especially as temperatures in Washington in July are in the 80s.  It's not the deep south.  Also, cherry harvesting in Washington started in June and is almost finished now)

  8. i´ll be there, but only to see the anti-immigrants working in a real job. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
