Question:

"save video file" wtf?!?!?

c**p. Ok so i made a movie on microsoft movie maker and tried to upload it onto you-tube (obviously didn't work) it told me to change the file type--- so i asked a question here and everyone said to change the file type. one girl said to press file and scroll down to it but it isn't an option! HELP!!!!!!

P.S- when i go to save as and get to that pop-up box to save it doesn't have save video file as an option.

  1. render it to a wma or if that still doesn't work, compress it by using another program like "Any Video Converter" into a wma,avi,mpeg,etc that way...


  2. Lol, did you save it as a Movie Maker file? Or did you click File>Publish Movie?

Well, open you're movie maker, and open you're movie, make sure it's what you want, and look for "Publish Movie" not save, save just saves it as a media file for the program only, publish makes it into a video format, make it for you're computer, and use the VHS or Portable device thing for You tube, makes the videos with decent quality and they aren't so massive you can't upload them.

  4. Use File -> Publish Movie, as a .wma file type if you are given a choice (though in some version you aren't).

    You're probably just saving your movie as a Windows Movie Maker Project, whereas you actually need to publish it so that it compiles it all together in an actual movie format.
