So I keep having this dream (it's been reoccuring for about five years now), and in the dream I'm either running, or moving, or sometimes in a fist fight. Everytime I try to move in the dream, my movements are sluggish, and my body feels very heavy. Could it mean something?

  1. WHOA that's so cool!

  2. no it doesn't mean anything..its like having a nightmare..some people are scared so they're trying to run as fast as possible..but psychologically , slowing down is terrifying..so no its just your mind subconsciously messin' with you

  3. Maybe you feel that something or someone is closing in on you. Or, you feel that everyone else around you is accelerating their lives, and you're stuck in the slow lane. Or you are afraid of becoming overweight.

    Just my interpretation of it.

    Hope this Helps!

  4. Dreams of hampered movement or strength often are manifestations of pent-up frustration or feelings of helplessness in certain situations.

You describe several different activities - and each can carry its own meaning within such a dream.  Running is 'progress' or perhaps 'escape' - either way you are thwarted by hampered speed.  'Moving' implies nearly the same - but with less alacrity.  The 'fist fight' may relate to something hostile in your life that you are finding difficult to manage.

In that this dream has been recurring for so long you should take a look at what has been going on in your life during that period.  There is likely a continuing cause for this dream, however minor it may seem in your everyday waking life.  Whatever it is, it will be something that constantly leaves you feeling saddled with unpleasantness or burden, something you feel powerless to throw off.  It could relate to job, school, a relationship, finances - you name it.  Feeling powerless to deal with it may stem from concern over hurting others or just feeling you have few options.

Consder these points.  If you can identify some drivers like this then you can rationally look at what might be done.  Sometimes it is difficult to handle certain issues - maybe even impossible to escape a drudging job right away.  But even planning in a positive direction can help one feel empowered enough to start overcoming the negatives the mind has been absorbing.  Eventually one can find solutions too - if not perfect, at least something better.

Hopefully some of this may be useful in your understanding and resolution of these dreams.

    All the best to you.
