  1. for the duration, longlasting, forever


  2. I would not include forever from the first answer, duration is good.

    Usually used as "we are in it for the long haul" meaning they are not going to drop out at the first adversity.  The connection is with moving something (hauling it) where a goal is in mind but it will take hard work to get there.

  3. doing something for a long time wiothout break....

    for e.g. if you are answering on yahoo answers for few weeks regularly without break, its called.. answering for a long haul.. :)
