  1. if you &quot;live within&quot; this means you are a reflective, introspective person.  You begin to think about the things that are really important to you.

    As you do that, you begin to see more value in things like family, freindships, learning, spirituality, justice and so on.  You learn that the things &quot;without&quot; - the tv&#039;s, ipods, cars - just aren&#039;t that important and live without them, devoting your time to the things that do.


  2. It means:  material items are unimportant.  What&#039;s important is within - are you content with yourself?  If you understand that peace within (i.e. satisfaction with your view of yourself as a person) is the key to happiness, the trappings of the &quot;rich&quot; man are suddenly unimportant.  Since the wise man recognizes this, he focuses on being happy within and has no need for extravagant items that yield no lasting pleasure.

  3. As human beings we need &quot;little&quot; material items to have a great rewarding life, finding your peace of mind, &quot;utopia&quot;.
