  1. no, it is supposed to be like that...otherwise they would be too smal and thats how my ballet teacher fits them to us./..she was in utah regional ballet for like 8 or 9 years and my other teacher is the same way and has been doing pro. ballet for a LONG time./ thats how they fit them, and due to they;re pro background i trust them more than i trust peoples opinions. also if they didn't have a small space, you'd grow out of them super fast!..

    i hope this helped

  2. There should be enough room for it to be comfortable, but if you can fit a finger in there they are WAY too big!  I'd never dance in shoes like that.  Tighten the drawstring or do what the other girl mentioned, about soaking them.

  3. Way too big. You shouldn't have much room at all. If you do they can slide around on your foot and rub blister. They sould "fit like a glove" my teacher says.

  4. you should have a little bit of space in the heel when you go up on pointe. when you stand on flat, your foot should fill the whole shoe with no spaces. but on pointe you should be able to pinch the fabric in the back. if you can fit more than 1 finger in that space, then the shoes are definitely too long.

soak the heel in a little bit of water right after you put them on (in class) and then as you dance and your feet warm up, the space should shrink a bit.

  5. you should have a 1/4 inch pinch at the heel when u go up on pointe
