The oil companies have gone too far, it is no secret that the Bush family is in the Texas oil business... I would never believe in scientology, but a series of ten books by l. ron hubbard was fun, the invasion earth series, really painted a good picture of how oil companies buy all the patents for alternative energy and kill those sources for the sake of making a quick fortune, when 'who killed the electric car' came out, gas was only $2.36 in california, now for the same oil, same processors, same pipelines, they make billions more off of the same product,

I think the government should Force the oil companies to relinquish all of the patents for alternative energy, the car batteries, what the h**l does texaco need that super car battery for anyway, just because it threatens the oil industry.

that would solve a Lot of the planets problems, if the government Took all of those patents and utilized them,

what do you all think?

  1. Did you know that there are still a few EV ford rangers still on the road, that the RAV4's are selling on E Bay for more than they originally sold for, and GM was not able to get all of their EV1's crushed.

Southern CA. Edison is installing millions of dollars of solar panel on the rooftops of building in San Bernardino.

Or for less that $1000 you can get a solar system that will charge an electric car, and never have to buy gas again.

That is as long as you don't want to go over 50 miles from home.

or that there will be new technology that will give a small car,the size of a ford escort a 300 mile range.

that in Great Britain, there are free electric charging stations?

There are more options in solar panels than ever before.

  2. battery techology killed the electic car.

On another note, how do you think that we make electricity anyway ... right ... oil and coal.

So much for saving the planet.

  3. California has enough problems with electrical supplies now.   What would happen if six million drivers plug in to recharge their cars?

  4. the car was never sold to anyone, people signed a contract to use and gave them back.  They didn't work and still do not work because of economics, not patents.  Look, the Chinese won't honor a US patent, so they are free to use all the double secret patents (give us a patent number please) that would make the EV car perfect.

L Ron Hubbard, when I saw that name, you post lost ALL credibility

  5. sounds like an urban legend...I would hope that if this was true that some consumer advocate groups would have sounded the alarm by now...

  6. Maybe there should be a law saying that if a particular patent is not utilized for the public good then the patent holder could lose the protection of the patent.

The patent is just there to ensure that people who develop beneficial technology get some financial benefit from it.  Not to suppress the use of that technology.
