Yes...I believe this statement to be true!  If we live in the past, how can we move forward in our own future?  Sometimes in life, we need to take out the emotional trash from the past and let it go.  If it's an old relationship that we're clinging onto or a relationship that caused us pain and therefore makes us afraid to start a new one, then we need to work out these issues before we can find happiness.  I believe that true in all aspects: love, work, family.  No good comes from sweeping things under the carpet...they will always come back until we deal with them.
