(recently developed)alternatives found for petroleum&oil?

some alternatives are biofuel,hydrogen&nitrogen fuel.plz tell what these are.list some recently developed alternatives.

Nitrogen is not a fuel. Hydrogen is a very dangerous fuel and explosive.

Bio fuel is just any fuel produced from living matter. Alcohol is a bio-fuel. Ethanol and methanol are bio fuels. Ethanol is alcohol made from grain, like corn, and methanol is alcohol made from wood. Bio-diesel is made from cooking oil or grease, which may be made from vegetable oil or animal fat. Hydrogen is the fuel used in many rockets, like the space shuttle, but it isn't practical for cars because it is to hard to store. None of these is really new.

Nitrogen is not a fuel of any kind. It won't burn.
