My husband and I are both survivors of sexual abuse.
There are times it is not anywhere near easy. Sometimes things trigger flashbacks and memories.
The secret for us is being 100% open about everything we are feeling, thinking and experiencing. It's scary having that level of trust in anyone. But it's also very freeing to know you're married to your best friend and can share a close, sexual relationship.
Over time, the flashbacks go away, things become easier, and you'll be closer than you ever imagined. It's a slow process, but oh, so worth it!
