i have a sore in the back of my mouth. right after my very last tooth on the left side. it started hurting yesterday and it hurt all the way down into my throat. today i got a better look at it and its a big bump on my gums. any idea what this is? and do i need to get it checked out or will something like this pass by itself.

im also just getting over a cold and cough. if that could have anything to do with it but i doubt it.

it is not a canker sore i have had those before. this is on my gums right after my molor in back. and its a little lump. and im only 17 so i really doubt its oral cancer as that one guy said lol

  1. I get those all the time.  I get them from eating something pointy like Ice ( I no thats bad for your teeth) and corn chips.  It last for 1-3 days and kinda feels like a new tooth coming in that hasn't poked threw the gums yet.  It's kinda a weird feeling.  If it last for more than a few days ask your dentist, or someone that woeks for a dentist.  Good luck!
