1. This is in the wrong section, but I will answer your questions.

The law varies from state to state, so to find out the requirements where you live visit http://www.HSLDA.org and click on "In Your State".

You will get a lot of help from experienced homeschoolers. To find a group in your area, visit http://groups.yahoo.com and type in "MyCity Homeschool" and one near you will probably pop up. These groups generally offer field trips, coop classes, and the like as well as curriculum reviews and swaps, and other activities (both educational and social).

How you start will depend on the laws in your state. Again, best to get in touch with those other homeschoolers in your area.

Some homeschoolers can complete two grades in a year, it depends on the laws in your state and your abilities.

To tie this in with the Celebrity category, here is some information:

A lot of child celebrities are homeschooled. When on set, though, they all have to attend set school-whether they are homeschooled or attend private or public school.

The children of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are homeschooled, as are the children of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Dakota Fanning and her sister (Elle?) are homeschooled, as are the twins that play on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Homeschooling is great! You get a customized education rather than having to fit into the cookie cutter mold at school, you get to socialize in the real world rather than learning about it in a book, you can take vacations in the off season, when the crowds are less, the cost is down, and the weather is often nicer...just to name a few benefits.

The only con we have found in homeschooling is the ignorant people that know nothing about it, but perpetuate myths such as an inability to get into college, a lack of socialization, etc.

I wish you the best! If you need help, have your parnets contact me via my profile.
