i think im getting braces on just my top teeth and i want to know wat all they do, could someone please explain wat they do to put braces on?!?!

then the put the wires in place and secure them with bands

enless you have been told by a dentist or an orthodontist that you will only get them on your top, its more than likely that youll get them on both top and bottom even if you dont think theres anything wrong with your bottom row

they straighten your teeth and can fix an over or underbite

the procedure to put them on?

you go to the ortho...

the take an impression of your teeth

you rinse yourmouth

then they put an expander in your mouth used to keep your lips away from your teeth andyour mouth open - its awkward but does not hurt. (i have a very small mouth...and it didnt hurt me!)

put some glue on a tooth

put on the bracket

use this UV gun thing to set and harden the glue

then theyll teach you how to care for your braces, and what not to eat that sort of thing

if you get top and bottom on at the same time, expect it to take 2-3 hrs

make sure you bring some lipchap because your lips will be dry like theres no tomorrow afterwards!

you can bring music, and ask the ortho if you can listen to it, to pass the time (a dentist let me do this once)

take advil or tylenol afterwards to help with the pain, if you even get any (i didnt have any after i got them on!)

when they put my braces on they took this kind glue/cement and they place it on your teeth then they put on the metal brace after that they turned on this blue heat light to dry the braces quickly, you cant look into the light because it can hurt your eyes, then after they dry you get up and rinse out your mouth. After rinsing you have the bands and wire attached to the braces and then your braces are done! At least that&#039;s how they did it for me.
