Question

I have had braces for 10 months now... how long do u think i'll still hav to have them? my teeth are now kinda straight

I know how uncomfortable they can be I had them for just over 2 years and in my opinion they were straight for a year or so b4 I got them off, I think they need to set in some way so they dont move back, but hey, its worth it, I had terrible teeth but now they look great!

Until they are completely straight, any over/underbite is fixed and its been that way for a few months.

You probably still have a year left, then a few years, if not a lifetime of wearing a retainer.

Everyone is different. Ask your orthodontist next time you get your bands changed.

The second person that answered is WRONG! After you get your retainers, if you want your teeth to stay strait, you have to wear your retainers for the rest of your life!!!

12 hours a day for two-three months.

After that, just sleeping time for two years.

Then, at least 3 times a week sleeping for the rest of your life!

1 in 3 people have crooked teeth if the EVER stop wearing their retainers.

If you have DAMON BRACES then you have (an overall average) of 8-14 months left.  After your teeth are straight they&#039;ll do bends in the wires to make each tooth level and that takes a few appointments. Then you&#039;ll have rubber bands to &quot;sock&quot; in your bite before you get your braces off.

Ask your Orthodontist how much longer he thinks. He may not have an answer though so don&#039;t get upset because everyone is different.  :)
