My husband and i have been TTC for 18months. I have PCOS and do not ovulate without medication. I was taking 50mgs of clomid for 2 months...I ovulated the first month but I started to spot 3DPO. I did not ovulate last month so was 'upped' to 100mgs. I got a positive OPK on CD18 (currently on CD22) and today I started spotting, I was told by my dr. that if this happened to use progesterone suppositories. I used one as soon as i noticed the spotting...I am 3/4 DPO...Will this spotting effect my chanches of concieving this month??? I am hoping 3 DPO is to early for the egg to be in my womb....

What do you think????

Thanks!!!

xx

  1. First, congrats on the ovulation! I know how accomplished that feels when you've been having cycles that don't include ovulation. At 3DPO I wouldn't think that the egg would be trying to implant yet. Hopefully the suppositories do their job; stop any bleeding and build up that wall so that there is a nice home for the egg when it tries in another 2-7 days!

You'll have to let me know how the progesterone goes for you. We've also been TTC for 18 months and I will start the progesterone suppositories tonight for the first time. I'm trying to lengthen a lutueal phase that's normally 10-11 days.

Best of luck and baby dust to you!

  2. I myself have PCOS and was on clomid for 6 months before i got pregnant. The first month on 50mg i ovulated the 2nd month i didn't the third month on 100mg i ovulated again but on the 4th months i didn't so on the 5th month on 150mg i was one day over the 32 days cycle they predict and was gutted thinking this hasn't worked again and 150mg was the highest dose i could go but i couldn't get in touch with any medical staff to tell me to stop or continue with clomid, i just decided to take it for another month and that was the month i got pregnant. Just something that concerns me is when you got a positive OPK on day 18 that indicates a rise in your LH hormone to let you know that ovulation will occur in the next 24-36 hours but this is the best time to try to conceive. so if you actually ovulate on day 19 or near to day 20, the egg can live for apprx 24 hours which may mean that conception could possible have taken place on day 21. I found i spotted on clomid too but i was told that this was normal and was not given any progesterone. I hope it works for you and fingers crossed that conception has taken place or will happen very soon for you. I myself am in the process of starting all this treatment again to have my 2nd child but we have an added completion this time as my husband 2 years ago developed tesicular cancer and had a short spell of chemo so we are awaiting his test result to see if his sperm count has been damaged. wishing you well and the upmost success.
