If you call a coniferous tree a conifer, what do you call a deciduous tree?

  1. Conifer is a noun while coniferous is an adjective.  Deciduous is an adjective and there is no noun form of deciduous (I have no idea why).  You can, however, call deciduous trees hardwoods.  Alternatively, you could start a new trend and call them &quot;Decids&quot; and see if it catches on.
