I suffer from anxiety. About 3 months ago I was at a friends house where I had alcohol, marijuana, and anxiety meds in my system. That is when I first experinced depersonalization at it's worst. I couldn't even see straight.

So things have gotten better. But I just haven't felt completely zoned in, or in my body ever since. So my question is...Is this normal for people with anxiety? Will it ever go away?

  1. I also suffer with anxiety, yes it will get better, but it is not wise to ever mix alcohol and drugs, especially if you are taking over the counter medication, your lucky, side effects could have been alot worse....

  2. First of all, drugs and alcahol are going to mess with you no matter what, but if you have depression, anxiety, adhd, or anything else, it will only make it worse and make it harder for you to cope and deal.

You should stay away from drugs completely, and wait a few years to try alcahol. My roomie, when she was in high school had a lot of panic attacks whenever she would drink.. she had anxiety problems too.

  3. Yes it is normal. It does go away. It's a mechanism to diminish your trauma by making you feel detached from your difficult reality.

You need to look after yourself properly.
