we have opened an ebay account recentely and sold and bought goods and the first months invoice notification for listing fees was taken which was £8.11 we thought this was a fair amount as we sold a lot of stuff

the second months invoice came this morning in an email and is £4.15 this month we have sold 1 thing and they took there end fee of it and the listing fee was 10p so we expected it to be 10p so how comes that it is showiong up as £4.15

has anybody out there had experiences of ebay and how they charge or are there missing charges that im forgetting because our family are considering closing the account down because of these hideous charges

any ideaas?

thanks in advance

  1. Yes, ebay charge you a percentage of the price you actually get for any item when you sell it. Of course, buyers aren't charged any fees at all (which is why I stick to buying and not selling on ebay). Try using another auction site, like ebid, who don't charge you anything for selling. Good luck.

  2. They do the invoices from a certain date, so anything you sold or listed after that date will be on the next one. If you go onto "my ebay" then click on "seller account"you will see what fees have been charged per item. Ebay charge to list, you are charged a final value fee when an item is sold, depending on how much it was sold for, and you also get charged if they pay you for the item through paypal, this will be on your paypal account, so all in all, they do charge quite a bit!

  3. My guess is a lot of the charges were from the month before, Their month doesn't go from 1 to 30 .

You should have full details in your bill

  4. Its called a final value fee, they take a percentage of what your item sells for. I think its a rip off.

  5. ebay is c**p now... i had a great spell a few years ago with selling stuff with them. but they charge you for listing, they charge you at the end if you sell an item they charge you for re listing if you do it more than once.. they then charge you again if you withdraw the money from the pay pal account..... its not worth it..
