1. Actually if you want to do a homemade fertilizer the best would be a compost pile....simply throw out yard cuttings, fruits, veggies ect in a sunny spot in your yard and keep it stirred up with a shovel, with in a few weeks you will have a healthy compost that is a great fertilizer and potting mix be sure to keep it wet and watered well. Then spread it around you plants once everything has rotted down in a few weeks.

  2. Hello! Can you get Comfrey herb in you neck of the woods?I grow Comfrey here in New Zealand, and it makes the best natural fertiliser I have ever used.I have to be careful with dogs in the garden;and although they love the smell it won't harm them.Comfrey is a herb which grows to about 3 feet high.It has huge hairy leaves with a purple flower. It multiplies rapidly if you divide up the plant each season.I put the leaves into a big bucket of water.I use a plastic bucket with a lid.Ater about three weeks the comfrey breaks down into the most evil smelling brew.Hence the lid.It is good for all plants and trees, and my tomatoes love it.Will take you about a year to grow the plants up.

  3. Powdered Eggshell Fertilizer

Next time you use an egg, don't throw away the shell. Eggshells provide a rich source of potassium and calcium, and eggshells are fantastic when used in homemade fertilizer. Making powdered eggshell fertilizer is simple. Dry out empty eggshells, and crush them into powder. Work approximately five crushed eggshells into the soil around every plant. Outdoor flowers, fruits, and vegetables will benefit greatly from this homemade fertilizer.

    Liquid Eggshell Fertilizer

If you'd rather feed your plants with homemade liquid fertilizer, make a batch with empty eggshells. Simply boil twenty eggshells in a gallon of water for several minutes. Allow the eggshells to steep for eight hours before removing the shells. Store the homemade liquid fertilizer in a covered container, and apply an adequate amount to outdoor plants, fruits, and vegetables once each week.
