Sorry for the too many question marks...I needed 20 characters)

My friend has recently started having headaches almost everyday, and sometimes it's just a 'heavy head' feeling, but the other times it's a proper headache. She was quite fine till about a month ago. This just started all of a sudden. She is underweight, but overall healthy.

Tests revealed nothing was wrong.

I'm really worried about her. They are not migraines. There are no other symptoms, like nausea or sensitivity to light or noise.

They fade off after a few hours, generally. They start mostly in the evening. She got her eyesight checked and it was normal.

She has gone to many doctors, but nothing has been found out.

Is there any way to reduce the pain (without medicines...she's already taking those) or to prevent headaches, maybe something that works for you, or someone you know??

Help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

  1. she may have hypoglycemia- low blood sugar, or the onset of minor scoliosis- that's spine curvature, generally in the cervical spine (upper spine). Maybe have the doctor do an x ray of it and test her blood sugar if they haven't. Or iron deficiency is common in underweight people, (anemia). Taking some iron pills may help with that. Usually the most common cause, and the one that comes before anything else is stress- if she's really stressed about something, she's going to have a headache. Laying down is what i did when i had migraines/ headaches. It's usually all you can do, and take a few ibuprofin or aspirin. The worst thing would be a minor stroke- bursted blood vessel in the brain- getting a brain scan- pet, mri, eeg, cat- all that, might help too.

  2. maybe she's stressed, or has some things going on in her life that are overwhelming her.

  3. I use to have them every night for about a month. I have high blood pressure. I use to take the meds but mine came down to a normal level. You might want to have her check for that.

  4. I bet she's a hacker? just kidding nevermind,i'm here just for points lol,i dont mind if they again kick me off,but if she really is just throw the machine out, tell her to stop programming and stop usin those words like, ping, trace route and s**t,sorry if this msg hurts you,it will still be the best one ever. haha

  5. this may seem like an old tale, but eating right and getting outside often does help. might not cure, but im sure if you give it a go for a month or two it could help

  6. it could be because she is underweight...shes not geting all the important vitamins her body needs which then causes the headaches..she can try warm and even cold cloth on her head for the pain..eating better..food important vitamins..hope this help and i hope she feelz better soon..let me know how it goes please..

  7. I get migraines and I drink caffine and try to lay down for a little while, Putting a hot wash cloth over my eyes and this works well but better when another person does it- takes their thumbs and put them on your forehead right in between your eyes and right above the eyebrows with the other fingers on your temples and presses down and goes acrossed to relieve some pressue, Most headaches come from the nerves in the neck so also try a little neck massage, rest and lots of fluids! Hope this helps your friend!

  8. She should try to figure out what causes them. Tell her to keep a journal of what she was doing when it started, how long it lasted, what she felt.

Look at this website for cluster headaches. It's what most doctor diagnose someone that has the intensity of a migraine, but no other symptoms.
