Question

I have two breeding pairs of indian ringnecks.

I feed them fruits and vegetables everyday and I wanted to know if you can feed them the yolk from a hard boiled egg?

I will give a five star review for the BEST ANWER!

P.S. My birds are very spoiled they have alot of toys.

Yes, you can. It can actually be good for them. Eggs have good protein in them that is good for your birds. Just cool the egg off a little and you can feed it to them. Don&#039;t feed them too much egg! that would be too much protein and could make them ill.=(

They can eat eggs, but not too often.  I suggest giving them scrambled eggs, though.  Make sure there is nothing but pure egg.  They might enjoy the texture of it better than just hard boiled egg.

Yes you can feed them the hard boiled egg yolk. The calcium that is in the shell is good for them too. Just wash it and break it up in very small pieces. Breeding birds need a good supply of calcium. It helps to harden the shell  in the egg they are giving birth to so they do not become egg bound. This condition could kill them.   Almonds are a great source of calcium too.Good Luck

Yes, they will actually eat eggs. It is very high in protein and will help them grow and keep good feather color. Also, that is basically what the yolk is formed for. The whites of the egg becomes the baby, and as it is in the egg, it uses that as food. I see no problem with it. But some birds, like people, do not like certain things. Hope this helped! ^_^

Hard boiled eggs are a great source of protein for them and they need other things in their diet other than what can be purchased at the petstore. You should mash up the whole boiled egg shell in all its all good for em just don&#039;t give it to em daily but make sure you mash everything enough for them to eat it with no troubles keep it in a seperate treat bowl and toss what ever was not eaten by the end of the day!!!!!

I dont think you should.To them that would be like cannabilism and indian ringnecks are not cannibals also thats not in thier diet ive read alot of books on how to take care of indian ringnecks and not once does it mention hard boiled eggs. Keep up with the fruits and veggies!

Why are parrots branded as cannibals from eating egg &amp; animal products?? Parrots are omnivores, this means they eat both plant &amp; animal products!

Egg should be given to them. You can offer the whole egg (hard boiled) plus the shell mashed. This gives them the protein &amp; calcium they require in their diets.

You can give them scrambled egg, minus the salt, oil &amp; what ever you normally use to cook it Your ringnecks will love this!

Egg is especially good for heavy moults, breeding &amp; weaning chicks.

Yes you can. For all my breeding pairs of birds I always hard boil eggs, and run them through the food processor- shell and all. These are great for breeding birds- lots of protien and calcium.  Also another thing you may try for your pairs is cooked lean chicken..this has alot of protien too that your breeding pairs will need.
