1. The British troops called the Redcoats. This led to the Boston Massacre.

  2. George didn't do it. The Boston Tea Party was run by the Sons of Liberty. This led to the BOston Massacre. Military action - led by George, in the Am. Revolution - came later.

  3. the british. god damned taxes!

  4. As a Bostonian I think I just had an aneurysm.

Washington was not there, this was before the Revolution started. It was Samuel Adams who devised a plan and along with the 'Sons of Liberty' and others dressed up as Mohawk Indians.

It was the tea Tax, The Boycott was part of the event called the Boston Tea party, were they went on aboard the ships and tossed the teas into the harbor because they didn't want to pay higher taxes, it had nothing to do with the initial cost of tea. It was not just about tea prices. It was the colonists vs. The British Empire.

    Hence 'No Taxation without representation.'

Note: The Boston Massacre took place in 1770, three years prior to the Boston Tea Party.
