1. Illinois is a very big state. Just so happens that anything exciting is usually happening in the city of Chicago. There are a ton of exciting places to go and see. There is the famous Sears Tower, John Hancock building, Navy Pier, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, The Bean, Michigan Ave. "Magnificent Mile" for shopping, great places to eat! Chicago Chop House, Tavern on Rush, Rosebud's, Tuscany, Fogo de Chao, d**k's Last Resort, Ed Debevic's. In my personal opinion, most big pizza places don't have the greatest pizza around. Ask any local where their favorite pizza is from and I am sure they will give you something better than Gino's, Giordano's and Connies. All you have to say is, what you would prefer vs what the tourists want.

That is all in the City of Chicago like I said before.

Springfield, Illinois is the capital, there is some interesting stuff there, I suppose if you are more into the historical aspect of things.

And also, the greatest part of Chicago is that, you can take public transportation ANYWHERE in the City of Chicago.

    Have fun!

  2. Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Field Museum of Science and Industry, Art Institute, Wrigley Field h**l i can go on and on

  3. NAVY PIER, MICHIGAN AVE IN CHICAGO, HARPO STUDIOS, AND WE HAVE AMAZING RESTAURANTS.

  4. It all depends where exactly in Illinois you're going. Here is a website that can hopefully help you. Surprisingly enough, there is a lot of stuff to do in Illinois, you just gotta search a little. Have fun!

    www.enjoyillinois.com

  5. Sears Tower..

  6. Just visited Ronald Reagans home in Dixon, was cool! You also have white pines state park Starve Rock in Utica, you have the amish comunities Great Wine Tasting in the south. Illinois has more to offer than chicago!

  7. Chicago, the sears tower, the millenium park, the soldier stadium, the museum of arts, the history museum, the planetarium, the aquarium, the pier, I think this are the most popular of chicago, and outside there's Evanston at the nort of the state, and there are like 4 towns that all are beautifull y recomend them all.

  8. Most of the answers you will get are about Chicago so I will avoid that area. Here are some things from other parts of the state.

The Springfield area is known for its Abe Lincoln historical value. There are many museums and sites connected to him. I would suggest the Lincoln tomb and New Salem.

Rockford is a much smaller version of Chicago. It has museums, the riverfront and good restaurants.

Galena is an area known for its small shops. The area is great for antiquing.

Arcola is Amish country. Rockome Gardens is worth the trip.

In Southern Illinois, you will find the Shawnee National Forest for hiking and camping. The Cahokia Mounds are a historical area that was built by pre-historic Indians.

Champaign has the University of Illinois. They have many cultural activities like plays, musical concerts, and festivals.

Bloomington has the Shakespeare festival if you are going to be in Illinois during the summer. There is also a small zoo.

Peoria has the riverfront area, riverboat gambling, and a couple of zoos.

As said already, the best source is www.enjoyillinois.com. I use it every year just to see what is going on in my own area.

  9. 1. Empire State Building

    2. Hancock Building

    3. State Capitol

  10. go to the navy pier in chicago. that has lots of stuff, like the giant wagon, the aquarium, also some fun places to eat like bubba gump shrimp. and it has a seriously large rollercoaster.
