My knees feel funny..and I'm only 15! I have been riding for a little over a month and I felt fine until yesterday and today. Every time I ride, for a while after (sometimes the rest of the day) my you-know-what aches and my knees feel loose and funny (not painful). So how can I preserve these?? In 60 years I still want to have 15 year old knees and a you-know-what!!

Lol thanks and God bless you

  1. i get this too...take it easy when riding and if it still hurts afterwards give your body a rest for a few days

  2. Here is an easier way to talk about this with bike people:

Your "Soft Tissue" areas are not liking cycling. A Bike Shop should be able to help you with several changes or things to get it right. You should look first at the cheap route:

Is your riding position to blame? Are you leaning too far forward or stretched out?

Then look at changing things out like:

    1. A women's Specific Saddle. Buy one with a 30 day ride guarantee so you can try it out for a while since just mounting it on your bike won't tell you how it really feels on a ride.

    2. Buy Cycling, padded, shorts. Or if you want a little more coverage, try a Cycling Skort, or Capris, or Baggy Shorts. Any of these work but make sure there is a nice pad inside the shorts.

As for your knees, again go to a Bike Shop to have your seat Height looked at. You may be over or under extending your leg and causing more strain specifically to your knees. Also, if you are using clipless pedals, your cleats may be in the wrong position so have them looked at too! Good luck.
