The Mavs in my opinion are a great team, they might want to build their bench a little more but still they are playoff contenders!! I think they are kinda in the same boat as the Suns, they&#039;ve  always been strong but never really had what it takes to be Champions so they made late season trades that didn&#039;t really have enough time to work out, so now everyone thinks they suck. Its not true though both trades just need to come together and actually have a full season to determine that!! I think with J KIDD having training camp and a full season with the Mavs will help enough and should improve them greatly

i don&#039;t know who else they can trade. dampier has all the tools yet his contract is extreme and his game is marred because of his less than energetic play. terry needs to stay. so does dirk. i would trade jerry &quot;steakhouse&quot; because he is far too on and off and his age is catching up to him.

i think they&#039;ll trade josh howard soon, because of his openness about his drug use and his recent trouble of getting busted street racing. one rumor was josh smith of atlanta, but that has died down. it think the mavs will get rid of howard. he&#039;s a multi-talented player... but he seems to have pushed himslef out of the team and onto the trading block.

they are over the salary cap and it would be almost impossible to sign a high level player until next year (2009-2010 season) when kidd&#039;s contract is up.

i was hoping they try to land josh smith somehow, but thats not going to happen.  the mavs are a good team, trust me well be better this year, i believe that rick carlisle will bring in a better system which should benefit our offense.

i dont think theyll make any more moves though.  if howard isnt working out this year, then they might try to trade him before all star break though.

IN THIS TRADE THE NUGGETS GET 2 YOUNG PLAYERS WHO THEY CAN START BUILDING A FRANCHISE AROUND HOWARD AND WRIGHT THEN ADD MELO AND IN A FEW YEARS THEY SHOULD BE GOOD. THEY ALSO GET SOME SAVY VETERANS SO THAT PEOPLE WILL STILL WATCH THERE GAMES.

THE CLIPPERS LOOK TO BE ON THE SHORT END OF THE STICK BUT THEY AREN’T THEY GET A 1ST AND 2ND ROUND PICK IN 2009 FROM THE MAVERICKS. THEY ALSO GET A YOUNG CENTER WHO WILL PLAY IN EUROPE FOR 1 SEASON BEFORE PLAYING FOR THEM

THE WARRIORS GET THE LOW POST GUY THEY BADLY NEED IN K MART THEY GET A STARTING 2 IN STACKHOUSE AND THEY GET RID OF HARRINGTON AND THEY TRADE ONE OF THERE LEAN FORWARDS IN WRIGHT AND THEY TRADE AN UNHAPPY CAPTAIN IN STEPHEN JACKSON.

THE MAVS GET A LOT FROM THIS TRADE. THEY GET KAMAN WHO IS A GOOD LOW POST GUY. THEY GET JACKSON A GOOD 3 POINT THREAT AT THE 3 AND THEY GET IVERSON A GUY WHO WILL LIGHT IT UP AT THE 2 GUARD. ALSO THAT WAY PEOPLE WON’T SAY KIDD IS PAST HIS PRIME BECAUSE HE WILL GET LIKE 30 ASSISTS PASSING TO IVERSON AND DIRK AND TERRY AND JACK AND KAMAN. AND ALSO IVERSON COVERS UP HIS HORRIBLE SHOOTING. THEY LOSE JOSH HOWARD A GUY THEY&#039;VE STARTED TO DISLIKE. THEY ALSO LOSE DAMPIER WHO I DON’T THINK THEY CARE ABOUT, THEY LOSE STACKHOUSE AND JONES BUT THEY ARE OLD SO THEY REALLY DONT MATTER, AND THEY LOSE 3 UNSIGNED ROOKIES WHO PROBABLY NEVER WILL GET SEEN PLAYING FOR THE MAVS BECAUSE CUBAN IS OWNER. the only move i can see them making is trading josh howard since he is a knucklehead as charles barkley would put it. howard is proving to be the new ron artest. the mavs missed on their chance to get any significant free agent such as josh smith or andre iguodala and they missed their chance to trade for ron artest who has become more of a normal person now.
