ok is Nibiru a planet? ive never heard of it till now

Nibiru is the mythological name for Jupiter by the ancient Sumerians.

One of the first persons to attempt to translate the Sumerian cuneiform texts was Zecharia Sitchin. He was not qualified as a scholar nor historian to attempt a translation. He ended up decoding the symbols wrong. This was in the mid 1970s when Erik VonDaniken was a top writer selling ancient astronaut books. Sitchin decided to take the same route. Not only did he misinterpret the Sumerian texts, he added fictionalized accounts of the people living on Nibiru and invented a path for the planet that takes it 6x beyond the orbit of Pluto. When asked how the people survived such extreme cold temperatures, Sitchin made up a story that the Niberians carved out their planet and turned it into a spaceship.

Today, the Sumerian texts are easily translated. They are available for the public to see for themselves. There is not a single scientist nor scholar nor historian alive today that agrees with Sitchin&#039;s fictional interpretation of the texts.

Yet Sitchin refuses to admit his mistakes and lies. This is how he has made his money by writing about his fictional Nibiru. He is now in his 80s and Nibiru book and speaking engagements are his only source of income. Sitchin - a once well respected man in his field - will sadly go down in history as one of the biggest fools and con men of all time.

There is a cult group who believe in Sitchin and his fake planet. You will always find such groups in our society. Those who desire to make the world seem more magical and mysterious than their boring daily lives lead.

So the cult lives on. For now at least. Nibiru was supposed to arrive in 2003. Then when it didn&#039;t show, some of the fanatics faded from the internet. Others claim that it will arrive now in 2012 as a piggyback with the 2012 end-of-the-world hoax. When it doesn&#039;t show in 2012 we will have to see what year the cult group comes up with next.

well i&#039;m not sure with this info about nibiru but i think nibiru is in the galaxy named 55 cancri

55 cancri have 3 planets 2 planets are like as big a Jupiter and as near as Mercury and Venus and the other is a Saturn like planet

not sure if the planets are named nibiru

the 55 cancri is a nearby galaxy

It all depends on how you are defining &quot;Nibiru&quot;. &quot;Nibiru&quot; is an ancient name for Jupiter, and Jupiter is most definitely a planet... but is no planet x, and definitely no brown dwarf orbiting the sun every 3600 years! So in that definition, Nibiru is real.

The other definition is the &quot;planet x&quot; that orbits the sun every 3600 years, and is a brown dwarf... this planet is supposed to do three things: collide into Earth, block Earth&#039;s sunlight, and orbit Earth... all three of which are impossible.

First of all, Pluto&#039;s orbit is only a couple hundred years... 248, to be exact, and it has a highly elliptical orbit because it is very far away from the sun. Now imagine a planet with a 3600 year orbit... there is no way the sun is massive enough to have enough gravitational pull to keep a planet with a 3600 year orbit in orbit... it simply isn&#039;t possible. So this Nibiru doesn&#039;t exist.

The people who made up the planet called &quot;Nibiru&quot; claim that it comes around every 3,700 years, yet we have artifacts from civilizations that are far much older than 3,700 years, case closed.  If you think Nibiru exists, then you think humans have lived on Earth for 3,700 years, and that ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, Babylonians, never existed, because Nibiru would&#039;ve killed them.  People make up these outrageous fairy tales to make money, make people superstitious and idiotic, and to pound our I.Q.&#039;s lower than they already are.

Nibiru does not exist. It is the result of a mistranslation of early Sumerian texts.

For the Babylonians, Nibiru was the name of the planet we call Jupiter.

The fictitious planet that is used for the Big 2012 Hoax Off is the result of a poor translation of old Sumerian texts, by a translator with a &quot;vivid imagination&quot;.

According to his version, this planet comes around every 3700 years (or so) and its inhabitants come here to collect the gold that we are supposed to mine for them (apparently, we are their slaves).  The next return was &quot;predicted&quot; for 2085 (or after, but not before).

Some charlatans hijacked this fake planet and have used it in many hoaxes, including the end-of-the-world in 2003.  At the time, they were selling a book on how to survive the end-of-the-world.

Well, I really got them:  I survived the 2003 end-of-the-world and I never bought the book.

Not surprisingly, they revised the book and are selling it again for 2012.

Lately, the translator has started to state that he was annoyed that others were hijacking &quot;his&quot; made-up planet.  So the charlatans have begun calling it Planet X, and saying that Planet X was a colony of Nibiru (which is now in orbit around a brown dwarf somewhere close to the Sun).

It is still a fake planet, invented for the purpose of the hoax.
