1. Casting your own jewelry can be very fun. You have several options:

    1) Many craft stores will sell Casting Resin (Alumilite is a popular brand). This is a two part resin that needs to be measured in equal amount into to two small cups and then mixed together and poured into a mold. It will have an endothermic reaction (gets very hot), and will harden in a few minutes. It can be sanded, drilled, and painted when done.

Here is a video I made of this type of resin being used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcq0j-QPQ... (I get mine from http://www.hobbysilicone.com)

    2) You could use Polymer Clay in Push Molds. These are also available in craft stores and you might find them easier to use. The clay can be molded, shaped, and then baked to keep the form you want. You can paint it when it's hardened.

A good site with casting and mold making instructions is http://www.moldmakingsilicone.com

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

  2. What you need to find is a craft store that carries a two part casting resin. the two parts will be liquid, but after they are mixed, they will harden in a very short time (About 10 minutes or less).

Amazing Crafting Resin is one popular brand.

Hobby stores and hobby web sites will carry it.

If you can't find a store near you, here are a couple of web sites that carry it:

  3. It is called Friendly Plastic. Here is a link to one site that sells it: http://www.sunshinecrafts.com/body_frien...

  4. There is a type of clay called simply bead clay that works way better because it comes in white and you can die it any color you want to make different beads....they have a plastic tray that has two sides that fit on top of each other and it has 3 different shapes in which to make beads, you put a tiny ball of your colored clay in the row of the shape you desire put the top on it to match and move the top and bottom trays oppisite directions to "roll" the clay and it makes perfect beads...i hope this helps have fun!!!!

  5. My friends in the theatre use hot glue to cast stuff all the time. Just be sure to use a mold release spray first.
