Hello doing an assignment on prokaryotic organisms, Thermoacidophile for biology. I’ve gone to wiki but need more info. I also need to out line the main types or features of Thermoacidophile also I need to explain there main energy (nutrient) source.

    So the definition: An organism that grows under extremely acidic conditions and at very high temperatures.

    Features include:

    - Live mostly in hot springs and/or within deep ocean vent communities.

    - Belong to the Kingdom Archaebacteria.

    - Belong to the Domain Archaea.

    - Are prokaryotes.

    - Specially resistant to high temperatures and high acid concentrations.

    - Contain plasma membranes which have high amounts of saturated fats.

    - Enzymes are able to withstand extreme conditions without denaturation.

    - Multiplication may be by binary fission, budding, fragmentation, or other mechanisms.

    - They can be aerobic, facultatively anaerobic, or strictly anaerobic.

    - Usually prefer restricted or extreme aquatic and terrestrial habitats.

    - Often present in anaerobic, hypersaline, or high-temperature environments.  

    And also: - Nutritionally they range from chemolithoautotrophs to organotrophs.
