Before I surrender to slumberland, just wish to share this little, moving story with everyone here :)
While I was on my way home from work just now, I came across an elderly lady in the bus sitting next to me. She soon started making conversations with me. At that very moment, I was absolutely tired and mentally drained, that the next thing I wish to do, is to take a short nap in the bus. In fact, I wasn't really interested to talk to this lady at all... Really....
But I chose to listen to her....and my... oh my.... While travelling, she actually had some flashbacks of her son who had passed away... Little did I know that after all these past 2 years, this lady has been missing her son like as though he had just passed away yesterday.... Her eyes were red and sorrowful... At that very moment, I really can feel the huge and grieving pain of a mother, whom after all these years, is still nursing her sorrowful heart.... It's really pityful.... Pityful....
I kept her company right to the bus interchange although my bus-stop is somewhat a few stops earlier... I really couldn't bare to alight abruptly, although I have the very right to do that... I allow her to compose herself... and I also wanted her story to come to a closure... What I've learnt from my counselling experience is that, never ever 'cut off' and 'shut off' people when they are sharing their problems or issues... It's really good to give some respect to the person by providing him/her a whole-hearted listening ear.... and then allow them to put their issue to a closure...
This incident has miraculously gave me a good wake-up call...
My hopes and prayers for this lady that she'll have all the inner strength she needed to pull through...
It is really an inspirational story for me...
Goodnight dear yammers... Sweet dream to you :)
*Peace*
