Well I was at tennis practice today from about 2:30pm to 4:15pm. And of course i wasn't wear any sunscreen, and I got sunburned (on my face mostly) but normally I don't because practice is later in the day. Its not the worst sunburn but i would like it to go away, because tomorrow there's a huge party. So does anyone have any at home treatments they would recommend

  1. You can rely on home remedies to get rid of sunburn.

try one of this method see if you have them at home right now.

  2. makeup!!

  3. boil some water and put four tea bags in and when it cools down enough to touch, put a wash cloth in it, soak it, ring it out and lay the wash cloth on the sun burn.

  4. The Tea Bags work great

  5. Keep lotion on your skin. It will be dry from the burn and soak it up and start healing.

  6. There's no way to get rid of the sunburn by tomorrow. Your skin cannot slough off and regenerate new cells to replace all of the dead/damaged ones by tomorrow.

All you can do is take care of the burned skin. Use an intensive care lotion to moisturize the area. Take an antiinflmammatory like Asprin for the pain and redness. And use sunblock when you do go back into the sun.

  7. cool compresses will help with redness and swelling- but only to an extent. for pain, you can apply noxema- will burn slightly at first and then feel incredible. aloe is always great for healing. but there is no overnight cure to take away a sunburn. if it's mild it may lighten or turn darker by tomorrow- but only if it's mild and you have the right tone of skin

  8. I know that you've probably heard the aloe vera thing A LOT...believe me...but it really does help if you keep reapplying it. If you store it in the fridge, it can give you more of a relief when you first put it on.

Mix a half-water, half-vinegar solution and apply it to the burn with a spray bottle or soaked cloth. This will sting a little bit at first, but it definitely pulls the burning sensation out of your sunburn.

Ice packs (in small amounts of time) and cold cloths or compresses will also help to minimize the length of time that you have redness and should help with the swelling.

Take lukewarm (room temperature) BATHS. Taking showers with too high of a water pressure could increase your pain. Taking a too-cold bath won't help, and will make you freezing. And a too-hot bath runs the risk of burning you even more, or irritating the burn that you already have.

Make sure that you drink PLENTY of water, in order to keep your body hydrated so you don't develop a fever. If you do develop a fever, take an acetaminophen or an ibuprofen to help get rid of the fever and to minimize inflammation and swelling.

If your sunburn is really bad and seems to be very painful, you may want to go see your doctor and get a prescriptive treatment.
