Okay, I'm in the 7th grade and I've been homeschooled all my schooling years and I'm going to a public school in the 8th grade and I know that I still have like 7 1/2 months but I'm SO scared and nervous! I'm the one who wantes to go to a "real school" my brother is in 10th grade and he likes being homeschooled I'm just kind of tired of it. How do I not be so nervous? And I don't know ANYONE there! I am a christian and I'm praying for the nervousness to go away....not working but I know God's will, Will be done.

  1. youll be totally fine, i met a girl who had been homeschooled til the 10th grade and i made friends with her. she said she was scared but that once she got to school it wasnt as bad as she had anticipated it to be.

but get used to not sharing secrets or personal info ever, some ppl(not all) can be back stabbers. never drink or do drugs to fit in and dont take dares. lol but as long as you are yourself, you will be well liked.

good luck with the transition, and stay in prayer.

  2. Accept that you will be nervous. It's totally normal. The vast majority of people will be nervous their first day of school. Heck, I had slight jitters every year for the first day--and I was only public schooled. You are asking God to take away your nervousness, but it's part of being human--He won't take away your humanity. Instead, pray for understanding, pray for courage, pray to see the whole situation the way Jesus does. After all, part of being a Christian is trying to do, think and see the way Jesus did/does.

  3. Its natural to be nervous to go to school for the first time in 7 years. But you will be just fine, so relax. Just be yourself! And if you don't like going to school, continu homeschool, and vise versa.

  4. I go to a Christian private school and really like it there. If that is an option i would take it, it has been the greatest influence on my life. If it is not an option then try and find people there before you go. Find people from church who go there.

              God Bless,

                        Snypr

  5. Remember since your brother I am guessing is going to still homeschool, if you really hate public schooling you can go back to homeschooling.

Do your regular work, and when the day comes go to school, do your best, make some friends, and just enjoy.

If you really do not want to go you can still change your mind. But you really may want to give it a try, for a least a little while. Then you may ether really like it, or really appreciate the schooling you got before.

  6. Get athletic.

You'll get to meet a lot of other people by that...and you can astound fellow gym players by your amazing ability.

I missed out on this and I've always wondered how much better my life would've been had I been athletic.

Work on your sense of humor.

People like to laugh. Enough said. =P

    Get cute dresses.

I have to wear skirts (I'm pentecostal) and I tried to make different combinations of dressed and everything and eventually developed my own style of wearing clothes.

    Smile to everyone.

Not a dorky smile, just a normal honest-to-goodness smile.

People...well, atleast NORMAL people will smile back. :)

Oh, and laugh, too, when you get a joke that someone else says during class or something, and add a comment ("Wow." or "Dude, that's hilarious!")

    Be mature.

Or, know WHEN to be mature. Don't act TOO crazy, or otherwise, you'll get on the bad side of the teachers.

Meh, mostly, you'll just have to get used to being surrounded by CROWDS of kids and loud noises and flirting and different teachers and a lot of homework and-

    okay, I'll stop ._.

    Good luck!!!

  7. You'll be fine, just relax and be yourself. You will probably like it, but if you don't you can always withdraw and start homeschooling again... so relax and give it a little time before making up your mind. I mean, don't go and decide you don't like after one week, give it full quarter or semester before deciding what you think.

  8. Don't be nervous and don't try to be what you think typical public school students want you to be. You'll be seen as a poser. If you just be yourself and calm down you'll be fine. I'm not going to lie it will be hard for the first couple months but pretty soon you will get used to a public school schedule and fall into a group of friends.

  9. Just Be Normal and Act Cool. And Dont do drugs lol

    or stupid stuff

    do your homework

and dont mess with the teachers, THEY GET MAd

unless u know you wont get in trouble : ]

  10. just be friendly, and be yourself. some people won't like your real self, but some will. you just have to remember that not ALL people are going to ABSOLUTLY LOVE your personality! so don't worry about people who put you down because of your religion, your looks, what you wear, etc. you are exactly what God wants you to be, and He loves what you do, and what you look like! so don't stress it. plus you've still got 7 1/2 months to go! i'm homeschooled too, and in 10th grade, and i'm praying about going to public school for my junior year so i can try it out and see what it's like, and so i can play some sports.

  11. You'll be fine. Just go there with an open mind...and be friendly.
