  1. i'd pick all thepitchers on the left

  2. Zambrano (innings eater)

    Volquez

Sabathia (proven as a Cy Young candidate year in, year out)

Halladay (one of the best in the AL)

  3. Looking at your question, each of these pitchers would be a suitable candidate to be the ace on your pitching staff.  However, only one would be the be my choice to dominate.

Brandon Webb has been too inconsistent in his career.  I know he is getting better as he goes along.  Unfortunately, when you are looking for someone consistent, then he wouldn't be my choice.

Carlos Zambrano is a very good pitcher, but I worry about his mental and physical abilities.  Yes, he can fire the ball in there, and can be unhittable at times.  But look at his career and you will find a guy who is always on the edge of being great or just being mediocre.  Which way will his career go?  Only time will tell.

The two "E's" (Edinson and Ervin) are too young to make a decision like that.  Edinson is only in his first season of success.  How will that go to his young head?  Santana is just a couple of years into his career too.  Is he a winner?  Yes!  But, I could probably be a winner playing for the Angels.

Tim Lincecum would be an excellent choice, considering he is playing for the lowly Giants.  He doesn't have a great offense behind him; however, he is winning ballgames.  So you have to give him some credit.

Roy Halladay is almost finished with his career.  He is probably one of the best pitchers that the USA doesn't really know much about since he has played in Toronto.  How popular would this guy have been had he played in the states?

Cole Hamels is a disappointment to me, because you would think that he would have a great record with all of those great hitters in Philly.  He would be a very mediocre pitcher playing on another team that doesn't have as much offense.

That leaves me with CC Sabathia.  He is definitely the number one guy on this list that I would build a team around.  He is a power pitcher that can get the K when you need one and can get the ground ball when it is a necessity.  The guy continues to have a great ERA while racking up the K's and wins.  He will tear up the National League for the rest of this season and for seasons to come as long as Milwaukee can keep him.

    Thanks for the question.

  4. Brandon Webb: Gotta go with consistentcy here. Zambrano is to up and down.

Ervin Santana: 2 words. Easy. Gas.

CC Sabathia: I'll say it again...best lefty in the game.

Roy Halladay: Gotta go with the proven guy here. I DO want to win now and he's not that old. That was the hardest on IMO.
