Anyone else find it the greatest of ironies that BT is a COMMUNICATIONS company but you spend like 3 hours on the phone getting nowhere, put on hold, passed to another line that noone is answering only to finally get through to someone and you have to explain your problem for the 8th time to and they dont have a clue!!! Anyway just seeing if anyone agrees....

  1. yes the worst of worst .i spent 3 hours one night only to get cut off. called them back the next day .just about the same old story. all i wanted to know from them was . what number was

being allocated for my new line.i needed the number to pass on to my Internet provider .so they could reconnect me.

bt told me to call my mobile from the house line to find out .

i said dint have a house phone handset.

    only want line for Internet.

then had to wait days for written conformation .

  2. To scream at BT, press 9.

  3. I know what you mean, I left them 9 years ago and set up my own company in partnership with a company that is now the World's largest Direct Marketing Telecoms company.

I recently had a fault on the BT line, phoned our customers services and reported the fault, that was on a Friday morning, that Friday customers services got back to me 5 times, keeping me in touch with progress on when BT Openreach would come to sort the fault. BT came on the Saturday PM, fixed the problem then my company called me back 3 times the next week to check that everything was OK.

What pleased me most was that the company didn't realise that I was actually working along with them, they thought I was just a normal customer.

If you would like to find out more about this company and its services email me.

  4. We recently moved our business into new premises and BT were really helpful and organised, much to my surprise because I was expecting chaos!  The only thing they let themselves down on was, they appointed a personal contact with a direct number who we were supposed to phone if we had any problems or questions - this woman was extremely pleasant and all that, but she was completely unable to answer any questions herself, all she could do was give us the correct number to call - at which point you get embroiled in the frustration described in your question.  So only about 7 out of 10, B.T., but on the whole much better than anticipated.

  5. I think its a greater irony that the call center isn't in Britain.

    Try asking for a supervisor.

  6. i'm with BT and expirience the same but i advice you dont go to NTL they are worse

  7. The telephone is a machine for creating problems, not solving them.  BT (with their predecessor Post Office Telephones) have over a century of experience of this.  If you want something done, write a letter.

  8. You call them. For hours. And even if it isn't a premium rate line. Just think for a minute who gets the money for the call. They aren't stupid are they?

  9. I completely agree: hence I'm not with BT & never will be!!!  One of the worst companies out there in my opinion. especially when it comes to Customer Service & bombarding you with advertising.

  10. bt are absolute SHITE DUDE
