(warhammer) can people tell me the numbers under the name of paint?

i have gust got my orks but paint starts to get expensive so i wanted to know the codes under the paint name.

  1. I'm not sure how knowing the part numbers of the individual paints will help you.

    It's not commonly known, but the exact shades of paint and their chemical consistencies are under international copyright.  That's why, for example, no other car manufacturer can produce cars in precisely the same shade of red as Ferrari.  Citadel Colours are copyrighted in the same way, so you can't, strictly, buy the same shade of colour with the same consistency from another manufacturer.  This is why many top-level painters use paints from a range of manufacturers, such as Citadel, Vallejo, Reaper and Coat d'Arms.

    That said, the prices of these manufacturers is, in practice, much of a muchness with not a lot to chose between them.  Artist's acrylic paints are much cheaper, of course, but have a chemical consistency designed for application to paper, which makes them far too low in pigment concentration to be suitable for model painting.

    I'm afraid that you might just have to bite the bullet and pay the money.  Stil, at least with Orks you can make a fairly limited pallette look very effective on the battlefield.
