(wii) can someone explain wiiware to me (2 questions)?

what is it? and if its downloading games isnt that the same as the virtual console?..

my wireless internet works on my laptop but not for my wii or psp... but it used to work a while back... some help plz? ty

You can download the games onto your computer and then burn them to a disk. As long as the game is in a format that the wii can read the disk will work. You wont need to do risky mods.

There are lots of websites that offer game downloads, but none of them that really work are free, nor are they legal. The only safe and legal sites are ones that charge a subscription and even though you are paying, its still much less then what the games cost in a store or from using Wii points. Also, most of these legit websites will also include great support and the software needed to allow your Wii to recognize the game.

You must have your Wii to be modified with a mod-chip before you play burned games or movies.

Of course it can play any game of your own, and any movie as you wish after you get your wii mod-chip installed!

It's a very mature technical now so it won't have problem if you get your wii modified.

Also you can download any PAL or NTSC Wii game as you wish online now.

About the downloading and backup and copy games service: There are serveral sites providing such download services. They are very excellent on the contents, not only Complete big Wii games like Metroid, LOR, American Idols and Guitar Heroes etc. But also many movies, Wii tv shows, music and videos much more!!!

All you need is to join one of those sites to download so many resources. So you can download all those media as you wish!

And some sites can provide simple software help you to burn the ISO Games into DVDs, it is very easy and fast. After the instructions by them, you can go ahead to play those games you burned onto your Wii.
