  1. Porsche.

Having owned a couple in the Past, I see no way that the Porsche's finely-tuned high-performance engine can possibly be considered a "polluting vehicle".

This is obviously nought but a ploy to bilk money out of Porsche owners, who the Government believes can easily afford it.

  2. Here in the States, I'd support free enterprise over socialism.  For those who care more about the environment, ask yourself:  Where are the air quality assessments of London?  Has an impact study determined how much this will improve air quality?  Have any studies been conducted to determine how negatively such a policy will affect local businesses?

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be green....using this desire to increase taxes helps neither the environment nor the people being controlled.

  3. The mayor.

  4. Great decision by the mayor.  If people want to drive unnecessarily polluting cars, they should have to pay for that priviledge.  I hope more cities adopt London's congestion taxes, and I really don't think Prosche has a leg to stand on in this judicial review.

  5. Mayor Ken

My wife sent an email to Porsche on the basis of this, rather cynical of their 'environmental' policy

  6. I think that if you have a polluting car you should pay more to drive it and the money should be spent on projects to help the environment but I don't think that you should be charged that much.
