How can elderly and low income/people on benefits heat their home and even do the normal things like have a bath now? I heard today that the cost of a Hot bath in the UK has gone from 40p to £1 in 6 months!!! Jesus this is getting unbearable

  1. The figure of £1 for a bath is probably too low, given that the water companies have announced rises above inflation today.  So the water costs more to buy and more to heat.  I'm on benefits, along with my partner, and benefits rates are increased each April, based on the inflation rate of the previous September.  September's inflation rate was deliberately chosen as it is always the lowest monthly inflation rate each year.  If benefits went up based on annual inflation rates, then it would be fairer.  However, when do the government do anything in a fair way?

  2. Jesus won't help you, and the profit was for all divisions of the company not specifically the bit that does gas.

  3. have an ice bath, wear lots of jumpers in the winter, make a fire in your garden to cook from.

we dont need gas or electricity! im on solar power right now.
