Question

Hey. I'm new to the whole makeup thing, and i'm looking for good eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and cover up that isnt pricey. So what kinds are good for each of those that aren't pricey. Ohk, thanks!!

I like clinique, because I know its quality. But for less expensive options I would go with cover girl, or maybe maybbeling.

What you need to do is use a daily moisturizer on your face before applying any kind of makeup. Wait until it dries, and then start applying a powder-based foundation, such as bare minerals (which is what I use). If you need to hide any acne spots or scars, first use Maybelline mineral powder concealer, dab the area lightly, and blend it with a sponge. Then apply the powder makeup.

The moisturizer on your face allows powder makeup to blend easier and stay on your face for at least 16 hours. If you use a liquid foundation, your face might look oily and shiny.

If you don't want to spend the extra money on Bare Minerals, you can always use the Maybelline Mineral Powder makeup, which works at a cheaper price.

As for eye makeup, use a powder shadow. My favorite is from Bare Minerals, called Well Rested. If you don't want to buy the foundation, at least consider purchasing this shadow! If you blend in on your eyelid, under your brow, and under your bottom lashes, it hides all dark circles, makes your eyes look younger and fresher, and stays on until you wash it off! If you use eyeliner, I would recommend using a soft pencil-like liner. It's not the pencil kind that you sharpen, but the gel-pencil that you twist. Use a waterproof one that lasts for up to 16 hours, such as one from Maybelline or Loreal. Loreal's Xtreme Volume Mascara works wonders, too, and stays on without making a mess!

Just remember that the key to make up staying is a daily moisturizer

Covergirl is a great makeup brand that isn't horribly expensive.  If you look at Walgreens/Walmart, you can find the good brands and sometimes these stores have good sales.  

Eyeshadow--Covergirl and Maybelline have so many fun colors and you can get a good triple eyeshadow set from covergirl for under $5

Eyeliner--Revlon colorstay, Maybelline Line Stylist are good eyeliners for under $10 a piece and sometimes at Walgreens/Walmart they have 2 for 1 sales.  $10 may seem like a lot for eyeliner but you get what you pay for and comparitively to other brands, $10 isn't bad at all

Mascara--Avon has some really good mascaras and those are cheap, although my personal favorite is Covergirl Fantastic Lash (Waterproof) and since it's covergirl it's not too expensive :)

Coverup--Covergirl invisible is a good concealer and for foundations--covergirl smoothers or aquacurrent are good ones.

Good luck and have fun!!!  Experiment a little until you find your favorites get your shades from a makeup counter--they will do it for free(most of the time) and you won't have to buy as many different foundations/shadows to find the one that looks best :)

Mascara: Everyone  - including beauty experts - love the Great Lash mascara that comes in a pink/green tube. I think it's around $5?  I haven't tried it so I can't say what it's like. I use Chanel's Inimitable and it is the best - it lengthens, curls, and defines without clumping. It's about $25 though.

Eyeliner: Estee Lauder has some good eyeliner pencils. The thing about these is that you should try and buy the best ones as you can because it's in the eye area, which ages quickly. You don't want to get wrinkles and premature aging just because you used cheap makeup. Estee Lauder's Artist Eye Pencil is around $15 or something, again not very cheap. But you could probably go with Clinique too, since it is a relatively well-known brand with pretty good cosmetics.

What you wear at a young age will affect your skin in your middle ages...Which is why most people advise wearing pretty good makeup. Sephora will also have everything you're looking for and their brands are really good...The Sephora brand is all right too and it's cheap, like $5-10.

Drugstore brands that are well-known are Covergirl, Rimmel, Maybelline.

Usually cosmetics brands like Lancome, Estee Lauder, and Clinique, all three which are good well known brands, will give you a reward if you purchase $25+. (You'll probably end up spending around $20 if you buy drugstore brand stuff, so it's worth paying an extra $5 for quality stuff and getting the other stuff you need as deluxe samples) So buy a cover-up from one of these brands during the promotional period and you will probably get a few tubes of mascara, an eyeshadow tablet, makeup remover, lipstick, and perhaps an eyeliner pencil. If the promotion doesn't offer make-up samples that you need (they are pretty big samples though; I have like 20 Estee Lauder mascaras sitting around) then you should wait a month or so for another promotion. They occur really often. This is a good way to save money while getting what you need - at a good price and quality. :)
