okay so I'm sending in my resume for the show J.O.N.A.S. for Macy. And I've been dancing since I was 4 and competitively since 6, should I include dance recitals and competitions as experience? Because it is on a stage. What category should I put it under? Any other resume tips? Please help!

  1. if you are a hard core dancer which you sound like you are and i am too i have  a dance section on my resume however dont put competitions and recitals down because those arent very professional things

i put down things like The Nutcracker, Dracula, Hansel and Gretel, Swan Lake etc because those are very theatrical forms of dance so if you have done stuff like that put it down otherwise just put your dance studio under training and how many years(for example '99-'08)

    best of luck!! happy dreaming!!

    EDIT

this is an example of what I did

    DANCE

    Nutcracker.   Principal.        Civic center '02-'07

And so on hope I helped!

  2. Put it under experience: subcategory Dance

    like this

    (Bold font)Experience:

    (regular font) Dance

    List recitals and Competitions here

A beginner Should always put down as much as they can. If you don't have professional experience, you need to let them know what you do have.

Or you could put recitals under experience and competitions under training. It's up to you.

make sure you put your dance classes under training as well.
