  1. german is easier to speak and learn

  2. Easier depends on yourself. I liked German better. German is spoken in Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and in parts of all countries around these countries.

  3. I disagree with the person who said Latin was easier; German is much easier.

It is currently spoken in Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein and Switzerland. There are also German speaking communities in Belgium and Italy.

Countries in which Latin is spoken: 0

  4. Why do you want to learn latin ? it's a dead language! Learn German it's more useful and practical.

  5. latin is easier.

    german is more useful.

  6. Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechenstein speak German. A good percent of the English language has Latin roots, so it might help you with vocabulary--if you pay attention--, and will come in handy if you want to be a lawyer or a doctor. German might be a bit easier, Latin seems to be more tricky, but ultimately it's up to you. Choose the language you want. If you're into it, it'll be easier because it'll be an interest rather than a drudgery.

Example:" I give the queen money."

Latin: (Ego) reginae pecuniam do. "(I) queen money give" but in Latin the word order is fairly flexible. You could say: Do pecuniam reginae. "(I) give money queen."

German: Ich gebe der Königin Geld. "I give the queen money."

Note that in Latin there are no definite articles (the), in German there are and the nouns have to be capitalized. Also verbs don't have to be folowed by pronouns in Latin, in German they do. eg. "I see, you see" Latin: video, vides German: Ich sehe, du siehst. There's too much to explain, but I hope the examples helped.

Each language is unique, just make sure you have fun.

    Good luck.

  7. Yes, Latin will probably help you with vocabulary for the SAT more than German will.

German is the language of Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein and is also the majority language of Switzerland.

Now!  I took both and found Latin easier than German.  Both are more highly inflected than English (more verb and noun endings), but even though English is in the Germanic language family, in many ways it's closer to Latin.  Although much of our basic, everyday vocabulary shares a common ancestor with German, a great deal of our vocabulary comes from Latin.  It would have been hard to write this answer without using words taken from Latin!

  8. German is the easiest language to learn if you speak English. A lot of the words are similar.
