compassionate intelligent people hope that he will. He would certainly be better for the USA and the rest of the world than another republican. But he is not a rock star - he has intelligent positions on the issues, and wisdom.

I hope that he wins, but there are so many knee jerk reactionaries with 9th grade educations in the USA that it is not a certainty. After all, Americans elected George Bush several times, what does that say about our intelligence?

It is not obvious that he will be elected. The popular vote does not mean he will win. It is counted by electoral votes. So you need to win key states to win the presidency.

He should be the president of Europe. well, let us throw in Africa also.

No, he is just a good speaker, nothing else.  He will sell us out to other nations.  I will be the downfall of America I we know it.

But what about McCain, the person who want the job maybe should ask the voters who should be President. If it was SO obvious then we wont need elections we could have life long dictatorships and kings.

Fortunately Americans do not elect the President Based on the needs and wants of other countries.  The position is for the USA.   To govern, protect and to deal with other countries,  foreign affairs is a big part but as it says by the title President of the United States.  He serves the People of the United States.  Just as you would not elect a leader based on our needs or wants we will not elect one for the same reasons.  But you can have Obama if you want him.
