on adverage, how much do you/ your family spend on gasoline each week? How many gallons do you use?...

if you would like to give your opinion on these question too~ill be super happy. lol (maybe even give some points away...*=)

*Why does the United States need to import so much petroleum?

*What can be done to lower the consumption of gasoline in the United States?

I think we need to go on a gas strike seriously.It is stupid us having to pay as much as we do for gas.I live almost an hour from my job and my paycheck goes mostly for gas and it sucks.

Not sure about the first two answers, but the last 2 are driven directly by, oddly enough, zoning. The urban zoning movement, which came about in the 1920&#039;s and 30s, make it impossible to live where you work, shop where you live, or work where you shop.  I recommend two books by James Howard Kunstler, &quot;The Geography of Nowhere&quot; and &quot;Home from Nowhere&quot; is you want to explore these ideas in more depth.

Basically, we have made it impossible to live without a car in the US.
