Do the bars look like they are spaced close enough? All of the reviews said that this was a great cage-- no escapes but I just wanted to get an idea from you guys! I am going to order it today probably, but I just want to hear your comments.

P.S. & of course I will put in bedding, wheel, toys.....

P.S.S. Please don't reccomend a cag with all of those crazy tubes, I really want to avoid the plastic cages with tubes

  1. The size and bar gaps are fine, but you really need a cage with platforms and levels- syrains like exploring and don't like staying static in one place. For example, a rabbit/guinea in that sort of cage- but bigger- would be fine as they don't climb up on platforms, where as hamsters enjoy this type of activity.

  2. Thanks for answering my question! I think that is a good cage and it will work but I would reccomend a CritterTrail cage! Bye!

  3. It looks fine to me, although with wire cages, if the base isn't deep enough, some of the bedding can be kicked out through the bars.

It's about 2 square feet, which is a decent size. Bigger is always better, so if you can afford a bigger cage, go for it, but that should be fine. You can also build some homemade levels on the inside to give your hamster more space.

To save space, I like to hang the running wheel from the top of the cage - flip it over and use wire to fasten the base of the wheel to the top of the cage. Some wheels also come with clips that attach to the sides. That was you don't have to take up much of the floor space with a wheel.

  4. That does look like a pretty good cage, the bars are close enough. I would recommed to try to look for a cage that comes with a wheel, water bottle, and food dish though, but it is up to you. If you are willing to buy the peices seperatly, then it is a good cage.

  5. Great size cage!
