★Is a one level cage suitable for a hamster?★?

Question

I found a few good 2 level cages but there is always a problem with it. (Example: only sold in the uk, has small tubes, plastic, grid floor....) So I was wondering if a basic one level cage would be ok? I wouldn't get ANYTHING smaller then 24"Lx12"W. Would that be ok?

P.S. Yess I have checked probably every petstore in NY for cages, and probably every website too =s , but if you could proove me wrong and find me a link of the perfect 2 story cage please do so =D

yes one level cage 4 a hamster is good i have 3 hamsters and they had a one level cage and they really liked it.

A one story cage will be fine for a single hamster as long as it has a running wheel. I agree with the other person who suggested it, but CritterTrail X is a great cage. I had it for my mouse and he lived in the running wheel :). Only problem is it tends to squeak after a while, best to put vegetable oil on all the joints and moving parts to keep it from squeaking. Plus it has a nesting box, which is great.

yea a one level cage is fine for a single hamster

i wouls suggest the crittertrail X its only abut 30 dollars and provides plenty for the hamster to do

Yes a 1 story cage is fine it will be more fun with a 2 story but you can get 1 story's with a big wheel and look out tower at dave's pet food...
