Čepelová/ Husárová blue rain on Prislan/
Tinjić in 1st round – Slovak Open 2011
Slovakian duo of Jana Čepelová with Janette Husárová conquered Slovenian couple Anja Prislan with Bosnian Jasmina Tinjić in the first round of the Slovak Open 2011.
Both groups battled swords on indoor hard courts of the Národné Tenisové Centrum in Bratislava, Slovakia and it took the Slovakian pair a record time of only thirty seven minutes to surmount the Slovenian/ Bosnian couple by thrashing
them in straight sets of 6-3, 6-0 on Tuesday the 15th of November 2011.
Although, both the sets were completely dominated by the unseeded Slovakian couple, Prislan/ Tinjić managed to hit an ostentatious 92 percent of their first serves on target but were only able to bag 18 percent of their first serve
points won. On the other hand, Čepelová/ Husárová were able to hit a grandiose 84 percent of their first serves on target and bagged a 53 percent of their first service points won during the whole match.
Both the squads had geometric precision and were expertly able to smash two aces each but the Slovakian couple had managed to save 63 percent of their breakpoints while, the Slovenian/ Bosnian duo were unable to save any of their
breakpoints. Similarly, Čepelová/ Husárová were able to capitalize on a hundred percent of breakpoints won while; Prislan/ Tinjić were only able to avail 38 percent of their breakpoints won in the entire match.
The first round of the match was a ferocious battle between the two squads and first to take the lead was Čepelová/ Husárová as they capitalized on an early break in the second game. However immediately in the third game, Prislan/
Tinjić broke back to make a return. In subsequent four games, the two teams exchanged breaks and the score had shifted to 4-3 with the Slovakian couple leading the set at the end of the seventh game.
In the following two games, the two once more broke each other back-to-back and at the end of the eighth game the score had progressed to 5-3 with Čepelová/ Husárová only a game away from victory. As they Slovakian pair served
for the set, they secured the opening set with a 6-3 victory.
During the second set, the Slovenian/ Bosnian couple did not even try, instead they were unable to control their double faults and unforced errors which resulted them in losing most of their points. Although, Prislan/ Tinjić had
an excellent serve, they were unable to make a return and nor were they able to capitalize on any breakpoints won.
Mean while, Čepelová/ Husárová managed to clog the second set with twice as many total points won as their adversaries and with unfaltering defence they reserved a spot in the next round where they will be facing top seeded Czech
sisters Karolína Plíšková with Kristýna Plíšková.
